Great Conversation Starters for a First Date

You know that feeling. That butterflies in the stomach feeling you get when you are about to go on a first date with a prospective partner. It’s an exciting time when you’re about to go on a first date. It could be the beginning of something new in your life, something to be excited about. This is fair enough to because finding someone to share your life with is important, life tends to be that little bit more special when you’ve got someone just as special to share it with.

However, a first date can also be something that is quite daunting for some people. Some people find first dates to be a comfortable experience, one where they feel confident going in, and they are confident in themselves and the impression they’ll make. However, not everyone is blessed with this steel kind of interior. If you are not careful, those anxious feelings you’ve got could end up ruining your first date and that is something you absolutely must avoid at all costs.

Whilst it’s perfectly normal to feel nervous especially if it’s been a long time for you, the last thing you need is for it to be something that cripples you on your date. You may even be at the point where you are so worried that you don’t even know what to talk about. There is really no need to fear because if you have a couple of simple, open ended questions up your belt then you’ll be able to get your date talking.

This is ultimately what you want. You both need to be talking, making connections with each other, and only from there will you be able to see if you are both right for each other. Here are some great conversation starters to get the date flowing:
• “Are you the kind of person that would ever travel alone?”
• “What are the things you like to do for fun?”
• “What are your aspirations for the future?”

These are three simple but effective conversations to help you get started getting to know your date. From there you can both share your own stories, experiences, and see if there is a genuine connection between the two of you.
